Sami has visited over 200 schools, libraries and events in the last 5 years as a guest presenter, interactive workshop host and more. She not only finds it the most rewarding part of her job, but also the most fun!
Majority of her visits are to primary schools, as her books are targeted to children aged 3-12, but she also has experience with high schools as well as adult illustration workshops. Her sessions are jam-packed with unforgettable animal facts and drawing activities that can change the minds of even the most art-loathing students.

Sami’s visit to Moss Vale Public School was the highlight of the year for many of our students. Six months later they’re still furiously demanding all of her books; we can barely keep them on the shelf!

I 100% enjoyed Sami’s visit. I really liked seeing an author who writes books I thoroughly enjoy. She taught me new and interesting things like how the marabou stork uses its vomit to protect itself from predators.

Her dedication to engaging and relating to our students was truly commendable, and her impact on our school community has been profound.
— Georgia Kirkland, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Teacher at St Pius X Primary School, Windale
After her visit, students in Years 3-6 wrote personal letters and illustrations for Sami, a selection of which I forwarded to her. Imagine our surprise and delight when, not 48 hours later, Sami had replied, writing detailed responses to every question sent! Needless to say, our library has all of Sami Bayly’s published works in our collection and they are never on the shelves for long.
— Kathryn Westwood, Teacher Librarian in Sydney
